Job Title: Learning Disability / Mental Health Support Worker

(Private Mental Health Hospital)

Contract Type: Agency / Part-time
Shifts: Days / Nights / Weekends available

About the Role:

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, providing person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting clients with daily living skills, personal care, and social activities

• Promoting independence and choice

• Supporting individuals with emotional regulation and managing behaviours of concern

• Maintaining accurate records and following care plans

• Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams

• Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies where applicable

Requirements:

• Previous experience - 6 months minimum supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

• Empathetic, reliable, and committed to person-centred care

• Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)

• Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)

Desirable:

• Experience with autism, ADHD, complex behaviours, or forensic mental health

• Knowledge of safeguarding and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
