DescriptionPriory Hospital Cheadle Royal is looking to recruit a mental health nurse to join the team on Fern ward - a specialist female inpatient service. This is a full-time 37.5 hours role.

Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults.

What you''ll be doingYou will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a mental health nurse, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

Work in a DBT service with the opportunity access DBT training and to develop therapeutic skills

Be part of a psychology informed MDT, including psychologists, OT, nurses, and a consultant psychiatrist

Access psychologist-led reflective practice to support your professional growth

Learn to manage high-risk presentations safely and compassionately, developing core skills for roles in inpatient and crisis care

What you''ll bring to the roleOur work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The role requires a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months of post-registration experience, active NMC registration, and completion of a preceptorship program. Candidates should have knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests, and professional practices, along with evidence of continuing professional development post-registration. A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality are essential, as is the ability to develop and apply flexible and innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Experience includes a minimum of 6 months post-registration within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities care environment, with demonstrated ongoing professional development in the relevant field.
