A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Wokingham is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and experienced support workers interested in mental health, psychology, counselling, social work, or education.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEN and SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, trauma-related difficulties, and emotional regulation challenges. The successful Mental Health Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to help pupils access learning and achieve positive outcomes.
This Mental Health Assistant role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health development
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- September 2026 start
- Wokingham location with excellent transport links
- Comprehensive training and ongoing support provided
