A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Basingstoke is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join its specialist support team, working with pupils who have a range of SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a valuable opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to gain hands-on experience in a supportive educational setting while working alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals and specialist staff.
The Role
As a Mental Health Assistant, you''ll support pupils across the primary age range, helping children who may experience:
- Autism and ADHD
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Trauma-related behaviours
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Barriers to learning and social development
You''ll help pupils develop emotional awareness, build confidence, strengthen relationships and engage more positively with their learning.
