Medical Officer Specialist SEND School Maternity Cover Location: Billericay, EssexJob Type: Full-Time Monday FridayContract: Maternity CoverStart Date: November 2026Salary: Competitive, dependent on experienceAgency: TeacherActiveAbout the Role TeacherActive is currently recruiting a dedicated, compassionate and experienced Medical Officer to join a specialist SEND school in Billericay, Essex, on a full-time maternity cover contract starting in November 2026.The school supports children and young people with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, additional learning difficulties and complex behavioural needs.We are looking for a caring, organised and proactive individual who is confident managing the medical and healthcare needs of pupils within a busy educational environment.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in school healthcare, medical administration, first aid or healthcare support who is passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people.Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day medical and healthcare needs of pupils within the school. Administer prescribed medication in accordance with school policies, individual healthcare plans and relevant training. Provide first aid and respond appropriately to medical incidents and emergencies. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, medication logs and healthcare documentation.
