Medical Manager; Medial Affairs UK & I

Overview
The Medical Manager (MM) is responsible for scientific exchange, providing medical and scientific information, medical education as well as medical insight generation for the influenza and respiratory vaccine landscape as well as Seqirus late-stage portfolio of vaccines. The region of responsibility focuses primarily on the UK and Republic of Ireland. The MM will support the Brand strategy in developing and executing the medical parts of the strategy.The role interfaces with Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams to support country and regional business objectives, and contributes to the implementation of medical tactics for one or more products within the portfolio. The MM will work with the commercial team on materials and activities, ensuring they are Code compliant, and may perform other delegated Medical Affairs tasks as required. This role requires the ability to interpret and clearly communicate clinical and scientific data and to collaborate closely with medical and commercial operations while complying with all applicable regulations and Seqirus standards. It aims to build credible relationships with health care professionals and other external stakeholders, and to proactively contribute to cross-functional projects and process improvements.Responsibilities
External facing
Communicate new and approved medical content to targeted Health Care Professionals (HCPs) in local, regional or national capacities including Vaccines HCP decision-makers, national and regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional associations, JCVI, government organizations, primary care stakeholders, and other influencers for flu protection.Provide externally truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs and other stakeholders in compliance with ethical, governmental, and Seqirus guidelines.Provide internal product and indication expertise to Seqiris/CSL colleagues (e.g. field force training, develop and update medical slides, medical review and copy clearance, etc.).Deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders in alignment with the designated medical strategy (country, EMEA, and Global Medical Affairs).Facilitate communication between HCPs, Health Care Organizations, and Medical Affairs colleagues.Facilitate Seqirus-sponsored clinical trials, collaborative research, and investigator-initiated research activities in accordance with Seqirus SOPs.Support medical awareness and education initiatives in collaboration with internal functions.Identify customer insights that contribute to product medical strategies.
Internal facing and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with local medical teams to capture, share, and escalate generated insights.Provide internal medical expertise for training, slides, and copy clearance; engage with Marketing, Market Access, Policy, Sales, Customer Services, Communications at local, regional, and global levels as needed.Develop and maintain in-depth medical science expertise for designated disease areas and products, including literature analysis and recommendations.Be an active, strategic member of designated cross-functional teams and contribute to brand strategies and supporting materials in local and global markets.Provide medical support to brand teams during launches, issues management, and recalls; contribute to regulatory submissions and presentations to authorities where relevant.Contribute to the development and execution of the medical plan and cross-functional projects; initiate and/or lead designated projects; identify and resolve issues with stakeholders.Manage funding review and approval processes for external study proposals as needed.Provide input into or lead medical education projects for HCPs at varying levels, aligned with strategic priorities.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal/external policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., Code of Practice, financial processes).Participate in compliance training and contribute to internal sign-off processes.This role reports to the Medical Director, UK and Ireland; maintain coordination with medical counterparts to align activities with medical priorities and operating plans; collaborate with medical and commercial operations across Seqirus functions.Drive and support external meetings with HCPs and internal meetings; plan and execute medical education programs in influenza, travel, or other vaccine landscapes.Support the medical planning for asset programs and assist in developing and implementing Field Medical team plans.Serve as project lead or contributor for Medical Affairs projects as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Master in Biological Science, Medical or Clinical discipline, or Pharmacy with pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare experience; PhD or MD preferredExperience in clinical and/or health services education or research (preferably in the pharmaceutical industry)Experience in clinical research and/or pharmaceutical industry as MSL, Medical Advisor, or similarExperience in influenza, infectious diseases, vaccines, epidemiology, public healthHolds a driving license; willingness to travel across UK and ROI and internationally as requiredFlexible in working hoursOur Benefits
