Medical Laboratory Assistant - Band 3 Location: Belfast Salary: Band 3 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Duration: Temporary, Full-Time Working Hours: 37.5 hrs p/wk. 7.5 hours per day between 7:30am and 5:15pm, initially 8:00am-4:00pm Number of Vacancies: 3 Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for 3 x Medical Laboratory Assistants (Band 3) on behalf of a healthcare organisation based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with relevant laboratory experience or a science-based qualification to join a busy laboratory environment and support the delivery of an efficient and comprehensive service. Key Duties Carry out general sample reception and pre-analytical duties. Sort, distribute, label, catalogue, store and retrieve specimens. Assist with laboratory data processing and the distribution of laboratory reports. Prepare specimens for analysis and load samples onto analysers and instruments following appropriate training. Carry out routine laboratory tasks and prepare solutions/reagents where required. Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning and calibration procedures. Maintain appropriate stock levels of laboratory consumables. Handle and dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with departmental procedures. Maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment. Communicate effectively with laboratory colleagues and service users. Adhere to all relevant Health and Safety and Infection Prevention and Control procedures. ..... full job details .....
