We are recruiting a Media Officer for a local government client in Southeast London. To play a key role in telling the story of the local authority and its partners'' key work through the media and the digital and print channels; handle media inquiries and deliver communications plans to keep a firm grip on key corporate issues. Responsibility The Senior Media and Communications Officer creates high-quality content on all channels for key corporate projects and is key in delivering proactive and reactive media relations and communications plans on key issues. The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, from the Chief Executive and Cabinet to frontline officers. Qualification Essential GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics. A professional in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism qualification or proven experience. Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting. Significant experience and expertise in media relations and planning and delivering media plans, strategies, statements, responses, and events. Significant experience/knowledge of digital and social media content creation and an in-depth understanding of how to tailor content for different platforms.
