Media and Communications Manager

We are proud to be partnered with a leading children''s charity to support their search for a Media and Communications Manager (Influencing). Key responsibilities Collaborate closely with Policy and Public Affairs teams to track political developments across Westminster and devolved nations, translating policy into media opportunities to position the charity as a thought leader. Find creative ways to amplify the charity''s voice on issues affecting their service users, promoting powerful stories across media channels. Provide line management and support to direct reports, helping them grow, adopt new tools and technology, and continuously develop. Help run a modern, proactive press office, handling daily media enquiries, out-of-hours duty rotas, and reputational risk management. Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and internal spokespeople, assisting with spokesperson training. Lead on media planning for high-profile national campaigns alongside internal marketing, digital, and fundraising teams. Write high-quality press releases, opinion pieces, statements, and social media copy. Person Specifications Strong track record of working alongside policy or public affairs teams to translate complex issues into engaging media coverage, pitch stories, and drive policy-led campaigns.
