About the Company: This innovative engineering firm is developing specialist  robots that are redefining the possibilities of the robotics industry. They are looking for a driven, curious Mechatronics Engineer to join their team in Birmingham and help push the boundaries of what machines can do.

About the Role: This isn''t a role where you''ll spend months shadowing someone else. From day one, you''ll be hands-on - designing, building, and solving real engineering challenges alongside a tight-knit team of talented, multidisciplinary engineers, all working toward one ambitious goal.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and developing mechatronic systems for robotic platforms.
• Working across the full mechatronics stack—from CAD design and PCB layout to firmware and software integration.
• Collaborating closely with the wider engineering team to bring complex systems from concept to prototype to production.
• Troubleshooting, iterating, and refining—because that''s where the real learning happens.
• Testing and commissioning their robots.
• Debugging and improving their software stack, including implementing the future of their localisation and automation stack.

What they are looking for:

• Graduate to 2 years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, or a closely related field.
• Solid CAD skills (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
• Experience with PCB design.
• Familiarity with ROS1 and Linux (ROS2 is a bonus).
• Programming experience in Python and C++.
• A hands-on mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Bonus points if you have experience with React Native.
