Mechanical Workshop Supervisor

My client a leading mining engineering client in the West Coast of Scotland are seeking a mining experienced mechanical fitter for a perm role at their site. The Mechanical Fitter will also undertake a supervisory role within the Maintenance / Mechanical team. Core working hours are Mon - Friday 07.00 - 3.30pm with overtime available. Accommodation can be provided locally for the first 3 months of employment by the company and then at a reduced rate thereafter paid by the candidate. Candidate needs to have experience of mechanical maintenance and repair of mobile plant and metal works and ideally have some fixed plant experience too. Duties involve:- Vehicle and Plant Maintenance Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles, mobile plant and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules where applicable. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment. Perform repairs, adjustments and component replacements to ensure equipment is safe, reliable. Be able to demonstrate experience on mobile plant and fixed plant and also have fabrication / welding / steelwork abilities 2. Breakdown and Fault Response Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly; assess faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime. Support field breakdowns and recovery when required. 3.
