Mechanical Technician (refrigeration cold rooms, Freezers)
The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, fault finding, and emergency repair of production machinery, utilities, and site infrastructure. The role requires a strong focus on food safety, hygiene, and Health and Safety compliance, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous production.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipmentRespond promptly to breakdowns and complete effective emergency repairsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic PLC faultsMaintain cold storage, blast freezing equipment, boilers, air compressors and refrigeration systemsEnsure all maintenance work complies with food safety, hygiene and legal standardsMaintain accurate maintenance records and support internal and external auditsCoordinate and supervise external contractors working on siteCandidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will be a proactive and reliable maintenance professional with experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.Essential skills and experience:Mechanical or electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing or food productionRefrigeration knowledge, including cold rooms and freezers (F-Gas systems such as R404A / R448A preferred)Experience maintaining boilers and compressed air systemsBasic PLC knowledge (Siemens or Mitsubishi preferred)Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively under pressureGood ..... full job details .....
