Mechanical Technician£39,970WidnesDays Only (Mon-Fri)gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Fitter / Technician / Craftsman to work at their facility based near WidnesPerformance ObjectivesDesign, select, maintain and install mechanical equipmentCarry out mechanical preventive maintenanceFault location / diagnosis / repairWill be expected to undertake confined space trainingWill be expected to undertake First Aid trainingWill be expected to participate in the site Emergency Response teamWill be expected to participate in various improvement initiativesOvertime will be available after 40 hours have been worked in a week, overtime premium rates are paid at time and a half on Monday to Saturday and double time on Sundays.The candidate would be expected to be on an on-call rota (one week in four) covering critical breakdowns.Person SpecificationMust hold apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in a Mechanical discipline i.e. NVQ level 3 or CandG Apprenticeship. Further relevant qualifications would be advantageousGood computer skills are essential.Experience of using preventive maintenance software is an advantage.A working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act is essentialExperience in the chemical industry is not vital but a manufacturing background would be advantageousLean Manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizen and 7 wastes) advantageousMetal and/or plastic fabrication.Rotating equipment ..... full job details .....
