Mechanical Technician

Wolviston are currently recruiting a Mechanical Technician on behalf of our client, a leading operator in the chemical, oil and gas sector.

This position plays a key role in maintaining the reliability and safety of mechanical systems within a COMAH-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across site equipment.
  • Repair and maintain rotating equipment including pumps, seals, bearings and associated systems.
  • Maintain valves, pressure safety devices and pipeline equipment.
  • Support tank inspections including mechanical isolations and boxing/unboxing activities.
  • Carry out hazardous area mechanical inspections.
  • Assist with lifting operations, rigging and maintenance of cranes and winches.
  • Support fire pump testing and safety-critical equipment routines.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with site safety procedures and permit systems.
  • Record maintenance activities within the CMMS system.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical environments.
  • Experience maintaining pumps, valves and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
  • Mechanical CompEx 11 certification desirable.
  • ECITB MJI certification advantageous.
