Mechanical Technician

Preventative Technicians Required

Skilled Technician required with a solid foundation in mechanical and electrical maintenance. This is your chance to join a forward-thinking team supporting the Mark 5 fleet — with long-term career prospects.

Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Day Shifts (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out scheduled maintenance, servicing, and exam work to prevent faults and ensure operational reliability.
• Following maintenance instructions and procedures with precision.
• Performing mechanical and basic electrical tasks, including reading schematics and using diagnostic software.
• Reporting to team leaders and production managers, contributing to daily plans and team operations.
• Adapting to evolving shift patterns and operational needs, including potential future 24/7 coverage.

What You’ll Need

• Experience in maintenance — ideally in rolling stock, HVAC, Forces, HGV or manufacturing.
• Mechanical skills with electrical appreciation and the ability to read schematics.
• Basic computer literacy for diagnostics and record-keeping.
• Level 3 qualification preferred (Level 2 considered with relevant experience).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Salary: £47,500 (with increase upon competency – typically within 6 months)
