Mechanical Technician (Contract)Swindon £18 - £25 per hour Our client, based in Swindon, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join their growing engineering team.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong background in mechanical assembly, the use of hand and machine tools, and the build of complex mechanical machinery to become part of a well-established company. Mechanical Technician Roles and Responsibilities: Assemble complex mechanical machinery and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and specificationsWork confidently with a wide range of hand tools and machine toolsCarry out mechanical fitting, alignment, adjustment, and testing of componentsIdentify and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and testingEnsure all work is completed accurately, safely, and to required quality standardsCollaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement and efficient production Mechanical Technician Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in a mechanical technician, mechanical fitter, or similar engineering roleStrong practical knowledge of hand tools and workshop equipmentExperience assembling complex mechanical systems or machineryAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExcellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanshipGood problem-solving skills and a proactive approachJackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.
