Mechanical Team Member

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Mechanical Team Member for our client located in Scunthorpe, working shifts 42 hours per week. Week 1 6-4 Monday Thursday and Week 2 6-4:30 Tuesday to Friday. As a Mechanical Team Member, you will be required to work on an internal locomotive fleet and you will work to achieve plant operational/workshop targets, product quality, customer service and health and safety objectives. Ideally with a background in the rail or car industry as a mechanic. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team, ensuring the most effective engineering service is provided to our manufacturing customers. Using your skills to achieve business objectives, you will react to engineering, quality and safety issues as they arise and utilise your knowledge, experience and skill to initiate corrective actions. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns providing quick and effective solutions to minimize production downtime. Adhere to all safety standards ensuring maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and secure manner. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Maintain records of maintenance activities Be available on some occasions to respond to emergency out of hours breakdowns Implement preventive maintenance to minimize downtime Repair or replace defective parts and components of machinery, including bearings, gears, shafts, engines, motors, and other mechanical elements.
