Position: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: East Grinstead
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Mechanical Supervisor Role:
Lead and manage the South East Depot Engineering department (PDI Engineers, Electrical PDI Engineers, Workshop Engineers, Labourers). Ensure operational efficiency, health & safety compliance, and high-quality standards for all equipment prepared and delivered to customers.


Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Enforce compliance with H&S standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, support, and develop the depot’s engineering team, driving performance, training, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily engineering operations, including generator PDI processes, stock, logistics, site surveys, installations, and breakdown support.
• Provide out-of-hours call-out support (rota-based).
• Ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and repaired to manufacturer/company standards.
• Manage inventory, stock replenishment, and InspHire records to ensure operational readiness.

Mechanical Supervisory Experience:

• Proven experience in a leadership role within equipment hire or power generation.
• Engineering background in plant/diesel engine maintenance (generator knowledge preferred).
• Strong compliance and safety understanding within engineering environments.
• Team leadership and organisational skills.
