The Opportunity
We are currently working with an established M&E contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join their growing team.
The business delivers high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across the commercial sector, with a strong focus on CAT A and CAT B fit-out, refurbishment and plant replacement projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Site Manager who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership of projects on site and working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, clients and the wider project team.
The Role
As Mechanical Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical installation and delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
For the first project, based in Maidenhead, the working hours will be 4:00pm to 1:00am for approximately one year.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day mechanical works on site
• Supervising mechanical subcontractors and site teams
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards
• Coordinating mechanical services with electrical, construction and other trades
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information
• Monitoring progress and reporting back to the Project Manager
• Managing RAMS, permits and site documentation
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring installations meet specification
• Coordinating testing, commissioning and handover
• Attending site meetings and liaising with clients and other stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM requirements

Projects
Projects are predominantly within the commercial sector, including:

• CAT A & CAT B office fit-out
• Commercial refurbishment
• Plant room upgrades and replacements
• HVAC installations
• Ventilation
• LTHW and CHW systems
• Public health and plumbing
• VRF / air conditioning
• BMS
• Mechanical pipework
• Specialist mechanical installations

Projects can range from smaller refurbishment works through to £4m-£10m+ M&E projects, so experience working on sizeable commercial projects is highly desirable.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager with a strong background in commercial building services.
You should have:

• Strong mechanical building services experience
• Previous experience working on commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams
• Good knowledge of HVAC and mechanical services
• Strong understanding of RAMS, Health & Safety and CDM
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications
• SMSTS
• CSCS
• First Aid
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of site delivery

Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or established M&E subcontractor would be advantageous.
