Mechanical Project Manager | Building Services | South London | £80,000–£90,000 + Benefits Package

An established Mechanical Building Services contractor operating across London is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager.

The company delivers a varied portfolio of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, generally ranging from approximately £500,000 to £10 million, through both Design & Build and build-only arrangements.

This is a senior, client-facing position offering responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to completion, working alongside a supportive and experienced management team.

The Role

The Mechanical Project Manager will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from tender handover through to completion.

You will manage the programme, design coordination, procurement, subcontractors, commercial changes and client relationships, working closely with the company’s technical and commercial teams.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Managing mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Coordinating design information, technical submissions and RFIs
• Producing and maintaining project programmes
• Managing procurement and subcontractor performance
• Monitoring costs, variations and changes to scope
• Attending client, contractor and design-team meetings
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and on programme

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience working for a Mechanical or M&E Building Services contractor and a proven track record of delivering commercial projects.

You should have:

• Strong mechanical building services knowledge
• Experience of HVAC, plumbing and public health systems
• Experience of commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
• Design & Build and build-only experience
• Good commercial and programme-management skills
• Strong client-facing and communication abilities

This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager capable of taking full ownership of projects with minimal supervision.

Remuneration

The successful Mechanical Project Manager will receive:

• £80,000–£90,000 basic salary
• Travel expenses
• Company pension
