Mechanical Project Engineer Required - Hull (Mid-Senior Level)

Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and driven individuals with a strong blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical engineering and project management, coupled with the communication and leadership abilities required to manage complex projects effectively. This role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, taking ownership of technical queries and ensuring smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison between engineering and project stakeholders, including client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Review and interpret design specifications and IFC drawings to fully understand project scope.
- Support the coordination process by translating design information into installation drawings via BIM personnel, ensuring compliance with specifications and project time lines.
- Align engineering activities with the overall construction schedule, including procurement planning.
- Prepare and submit technical documentation, and manage the approval process.
- Engage with vendors to obtain technical support and explore value engineering opportunities.
- Oversee material procurement using Engineering Materials Reports (EMR), including take-offs, lead times, and site delivery schedules.
- Manage equipment procurement and delivery tracking.
- Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality assurance standards, including bench marking.
- Conduct site audits to verify adherence to processes and procedures.
- Define and agree on project completion criteria and prepare close-out documentation.
- Assist in preparing subcontractor and supplier tender packages in collaboration with the project QS.
- Manage work packs from development through to implementation and handover.
- Oversee BIM deliverables, including isometric drawing generation and release.
- Liaise with clients and produce reports for senior stakeholders.
- Organise meetings and training sessions as required.
- Ensure designs comply with legal and regulatory standards in coordination with client project management teams.
- Provide technical support to the construction team throughout the build phase.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years'' experience with a recognised mechanical contractor, specifically in process mechanical and pipework.
- Strong organisational and project planning capabilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Navisworks and engineering-related database systems.
- Experience with project planning tools such as Primavera and CAD/BIM processes.
