Mechanical Manager

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a-Mechanical-Manager-to join a specialist Engineering company in project delivery for bespoke,-complex bulk material handling and heavy equipment solutions across sectors such as mining, tunnelling, quarrying, and process industries.

As the-Mechanical-Manager, you will lead a talented mechanical design team across 2 UK sites (based out of Adlington, with occasional visits to the other site in the Northeast), ensuring all outputs meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency. .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, mentor, and develop the mechanical design team, ensuring best practice and high-quality outputs.
2. Oversee 3D models, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials, ensuring compliance with standards.
3. Allocate resources, manage workloads, and assign engineers based on skills and project requirements.
4. Manage subcontractor selection, engagement, and verification of deliverables.
5. Drive process improvements, design consistency, and right-first-time engineering principles.

Key Requirements:

1. Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering with team leadership experience.
2. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor required; Inventor Vault advantageous).
3. Strong knowledge of technical drawing standards, mechanical design, and DfM principles.
4. Experience checking designs, planning workloads, and managing projects efficiently.
5. Excellent people management, mentoring skills, and ability to drive team performance.
