WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?
- Permanent role from day one
- Basic salary is circa £39,285 plus 15% shift allowance equating to an annual salary £45,178
- 3 week cycle continental shift pattern 12-hour shifts
o Week 2: 3 x days
o Week 3: 3 x nights
(i.e. a mix of 12-hour days/nights between 9pm Sunday until 6pm Friday – no weekend working apart from night shift starting on a Sunday night and overtime paid at time ½ Saturday and Double time Sunday when applicable)

THE BUSINESS
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our client based is in the Teesside area.
Our client is one of the world leading manufacturers of steel pipes for the energy and construction sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed organisation at the beginning of a huge investment programme that will transform the future outlook for the site and business.

THE ROLE
- The purpose of the role is to provide first line mechanical support to manufacturing areas to ensure maximum availability of mechanical equipment within the two Mills on site.
- To provide first line mechanical support and assistance to manufacturing areas to minimise plant down time.
- To ensure that any deficiencies found are repaired appropriately and that repairs are robust enough to prevent a recurrence.
- To suggest and implement improvements to plant systems.
- To execute planned maintenance tasks effectively, working through the task schedule in order of priority.
- To conduct all aspects of the job in a safe manner in accordance with company procedures and standards and adhere to statutory and mandatory safety regulation, procedures and policies.
- This role is imperative to effectively maximise plant availability in order to meet annual business objectives and ensure customer satisfaction on delivery performance.
- Working to maintain equipment such as conveyors, ovens, mills, overhead cranes, welding lines, bevelling machines, handling equipment, basic facilities maintenance, etc
- Working with pneumatics and hydraulics, gear boxes, chains, pumps, valves, clylinders, etc
- Lifting and slinging
- Performing bearing alignment
THE PERSON
- A recognised mechanical apprenticeship ideally gained within an industrial environment.
- Experience of working effectively within a team.
- A systematic problem solving approach and ability to understand when and how to ask for support.
- A background in heavy engineering manufacturing.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to articulate effectively with a range of individuals on site.
- A sound level of computer literacy
- A flexible approach to workload, welcome personal development opportunities and active involvement in continuous improvement activities
