Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation with multiple sites across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join their site leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the on-site mechanical maintenance team
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across plant and equipment
  • Plan and deliver maintenance and improvement projects
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Identify potential plant risks and support long-term maintenance planning
  • Monitor completion and quality of mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Work closely with the electrical team to support system improvements
  • Identify skills gaps within the team and support training and development
  • Ensure statutory inspections are completed and any follow-up work is actioned
  • Promote strong health & safety practices and lead regular safety briefings

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a mechanical maintenance team
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or heavy industry environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, fault finding and plant equipment
  • Experience with maintenance planning and inspection processes
  • Engineering qualification (HNC, Degree or equivalent preferred)
  • Health & safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH desirable
  • Experience managing budgets or maintenance spend
  • Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • PLC knowledge would be beneficial but not essential
