Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Sheffield
Salary: -50188 per year
Shifts: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (continental), working Days (06:00-18:00) and Nights (18:00-06:00).

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a small, skilled team supporting a rolling mill and downstream equipment. You''ll carry out mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, fault-finding on hydraulic systems, and workshop rebuilds of gearboxes, shears, spindles, and pumps.

Requirements:

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
• Industrial mechanical maintenance experience
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Able to read engineering drawings and work safely at heights

Responsibilities include:

• Overhaul and maintain mechanical equipment
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise downtime
• Plan and carry out preventative maintenance
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
• Assist in production changeovers and report shift activities
