Mechanical Inspector

Mechanical Inspector - We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our aerospace inspection team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GDandT, manual inspection techniques, use of shadowgraph/optical comparators, and conducting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). Key responsibilities:- Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components against engineering drawings and specifications using GDandT principles.- Conduct manual inspections using precision hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, Go/No-Go gauges) and optical comparators/shadowgraphs.- Execute and document FAIRs/FAIs, preparing accurate inspection reports and non-conformance documentation where required.- Verify dimensional and visual conformity throughout production and during final inspection.- Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.- Maintain inspection records and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and traceable.- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements. Required skills and experience:- Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector ideally with knowledge of the aerospace industry.- Strong understanding and practical application of GDandT.- Experience performing FAIRs/First Article Inspections.- Proficient with shadowgraph/optical comparator operation and interpretation.- Excellent manual inspection skills with precision hand tools.- Able to read and interpret ..... full job details .....
