A global leader in advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing, is looking for a Mechanical Inspector to strengthen our quality team in Poole.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our precision-machined components, assemblies, and welded fabrications. Working in a high-spec ISO9001/AS9100 environment, you will be responsible for first-off, in-process, and final inspections, as well as compiling FAIR documentation and maintaining QA records.

What You''ll Be Doing:

• Perform inspections to ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications

• Use handheld and CMM measuring equipment for detailed inspections

• Compile FAIR and quality documentation to internal and customer requirements

• Inspect goods-in materials, sub-contract parts, and treatments

• Support contract reviews and non-conformance investigations (RCCA/MRB)

• Coordinate calibration of inspection equipment and maintain traceability reports

• Assist in audits and continuous improvement activities

What We''re Looking For:

• 5+ years of inspection experience in an ISO9001 / AS9100 manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and QA standards

• Skilled with a range of measuring tools; CMM knowledge is a plus

• Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Welding inspection experience desirable

• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive team player

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent

• GCSEs (A-C) in Maths and English

• Experience maintaining digital QA records and equipment calibration
