You do not need to know everything from day one, but the right attitude is key.The roleDismantling and assembling mechanical systemsWorking mainly with ductwork, fans and ventilation equipmentCarrying out inspections and identifying faultsProducing short reports on existing ventilation systemsCompleting preventative maintenance on plant and equipmentUsing hand tools, machinery and site equipment safelySupporting other engineering disciplines when requiredFollowing site procedures and health, safety, quality and environmental requirementsWorking closely with the wider engineering team on customer sitesWhat we are looking forYou could already have experience within:Mechanical engineeringMaintenanceVentilation or ductworkHVACMechanical installationPlant or manufacturing environmentsAlternatively, you may be earlier in your career with an engineering apprenticeship, BTEC, NVQ, HNC or similar qualification.What matters most is that you are mechanically minded, reliable, willing to learn and prepared to stick at it when things get difficult.If you have the right attitude and a solid engineering foundation, the technical side can be developed.
