Job Opportunity: Mechanical Fitters
Location: Kent region
Salary: Up to £40,000 + overtime
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join a dedicated team. This is a hands-on role working across both workshop and onsite environments in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment, while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety requirements and quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Key Responsibilities:
·Dismantle various types of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and screens.
·Inspect dismantled components, perform tolerance measurements, and assess repair requirements.
·Fault-find mechanical equipment using specialist tools.
·Carry out repairs and refurbishments under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
·Work on Water Utility, Power Industry, Food, Paper, Petroleum, and Government sites as part of a mechanical and electrical team.
·Remove and install mechanical equipment onsite, working in environments such as at height, confined spaces, sewerage, and potable water.
Desired Skills & Qualifications (Not Essential):
·Minimum of 5 years'' experience in a similar role, preferably with a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (Water Utilities or Power Industry experience is advantageous).
·Full UK driving licence.
·Understanding of onsite health and safety rules and regulations.
·Confined space training or knowledge (training available if needed).
·Water hygiene knowledge or training (training available if needed).
·Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
·Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
