Start Date: ASAPWe are recruiting for Mechanical Fitters to join a leading Rolling Stock company based at their depot in Crewe. This is an ongoing contract opportunity working on the mechanical overhaul of rail bogies.Duties will include:Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineeringWheelset overhaul, repair and analysisBogie chassis repair and cleaningBogie and gearbox repairWheel exchangesBearing, axle and wheel mountingOverhaul and repair of components and sub-assembliesRe-engineering and production of spare partsThe role involves carrying out mechanical repair and replacement work on rolling stock to ensure trains are safe, reliable and defect-free.Backgrounds considered:Rolling Stock, Automotive, Marine, Plant, Aviation, Military, HGV Technicians or similar heavy engineering environments.Requirements:NVQ Level 2 (minimum) in a mechanical disciplineIdeally time-served/apprentice trainedStrong all-round mechanical knowledgeAble to work on own initiativeGood communication skillsCandidates with 18 months+ experience in a vehicle manufacturing or similar engineering environment will also be considered, as training can be provided.All applicants must be able to pass a Drugs and Alcohol test prior to starting.If you''re interested, please ..... full job details .....
