Mechanical Fitter

VGC Group are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a major project in Leiston, Suffolk. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mechanical Fitter to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy plant machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a maintenance team. This role ensures machinery remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency. Basic pay rate: £24.14 per hour PAYE Shift- 12 days on, 2 days off. 12 hour days Start Date: ASAP, subject to gaining vetting Lodge pay is available for the successful candidate, if they meet the criteria. Qualifications/experience: Essential - CSCS or JIB Tickets - NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Fitter - LOTO - Strong diagnostic skills, hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a maintenance team - Ensure machinery remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency. - Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Technician - Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components - NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification - Ability to read technical manuals and engineering diagrams - Experience with diagnostics tools and software - Full UK driving licenceKey Responsibilities: - Carry ..... full job details .....
