Mechanical Fitter

Rubicon Consulting-is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on a 6-month rolling Contract, located in Oxford.

We''re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with hands-on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) experience to join a high voltage project. You''ll be working as part of a large skilled team on the mechanical installation and assembly of GIS equipment, supporting the project through to completion.

Role and responsibilities:

Mechanical assembly and installation of GIS bays and associated equipment

Working from drawings, method statements and manufacturer instructions

Carrying out torque checks, alignment and quality inspections

Supporting lifting operations on site as a qualified Slinger/Signaller

Keeping accurate records and completing site paperwork

Working safely at all times and following site rules and permits

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter on substations from 132KV-

1 year''s minimum experience of Hands-on GIS-

Valid CSCS / CCNSG card-

Valid Slinger/Signaller ticket (CPCS or NPORS)

Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings

Good understanding of health and safety on live construction sites
