Mechanical Fitter

We are recruiting for our client who is a global engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture, and assembly of high-precision industrial equipment and advanced process systems.

Due to growth, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Industrial Assembler / Maintenance Fitter to join our clients production team.

This role is ideal for a time-served mechanical fitter with experience in industrial assembly, mechanical systems, and precision installation, who can work confidently from engineering drawings and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical assembly and testing of industrial systems, including:

Water systems: manifolds, pump skids, and interconnections using materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and copper (brazing experience advantageous)

Pneumatics: installing and routing pneumatic lines, valves, and air islands

Vacuum systems: installation of vacuum pipelines and components (bolted connections)

Inert gas systems: running gas lines to devices using materials such as stainless steel

Carry out fault finding, inspection, and quality checks on mechanical systems

• Perform vacuum and pressure testing of components and assemblies
• Conduct on-site repairs and installations at customer facilities as required
• Support other mechanical assembly duties requiring precision and attention to detail

Skills & Experience Required

• Time-served mechanical fitter with industrial assembly experience
• Experience working with metal fabrication and piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Experience with mechanical assembly, pneumatic and vacuum systems
• Strong attention to accuracy, quality, and safety in all work
• Flexible and willing to develop skills across multiple mechanical areas
