Mechanical Fitter Overview.We are looking for a team of experienced Mechanical Fitter to carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on freight wagons. This role involves mechanical inspection, component replacement, and ensuring all wagons meet required safety and operational standards.Location: Doncaster for 6 months while training, then Burton. (Claim back .30p per mile while on training) Job Type: Contract for 6 months Hourly rates: Skilled rate is £18.79 PAYEHours of work: Monday to Thursday. 9 and hours a day. 37 hours a week.Qualification: Level 3 in engineering discipline for skilled rate or relevant experience for semi-skilled roleKey Responsibilities• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and overhaul of freight wagons.• Tasks could include mechanical fitting, inspection, repair brakes, suspension, wheelsets, couplings, and underframe components.• Working on mechanical and complete repairs to a high standard.• Replace worn parts including brake blocks, bearings, seals, and pipework.• Carry out brake tests and functional checks. Mechanical Fitter with experience in relevant components.• Read and interpret engineering drawings and maintenance documentation.• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.• Work safely in line with industry regulations and site procedures.Experience and Skills• Mechanical engineering background (rail, HGV, plant, automotive, or similar).• Experience working on heavy mechanical equipment, Mechanical fitting or wagons ..... full job details .....
