About the company:

Flexi Narrow Aisle Ltd are the makers of the Flexi forklift, being market leaders of articulated fork trucks. Operating from their site in Great Bridge, Tipton are known worldwide . New chassis and masts arrive from their manufacturing partners, the team then build the units to order  that make each order unique, from CCTV systems to keyless start. Several long-serving fitters have worked their way up from the shop floor into senior roles.

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you''ll assemble and fit out forklift trucks across new and used equipment lines, from mechanical assembly to hydraulic connections and add-on extras, working to job sheets that guide you through every build.

Key Responsibilities: 

You''ll:

• Assemble mechanical components and fit add-ons to new and used forklift trucks
• Connect hydraulic pipework to the correct outputs on each build
• Fit extras such as CCTV systems, laser height select and keyless start kits
• Carry out in-line inspections and flag anything that doesn''t look right
• Take the completed build through a series of test procedures prior to PDI
• Work towards sign-off in each training area as your skills build

What you''ll bring:

Essential:

• A mechanical background, for example automotive, plant, agricultural machinery or a similar hands-on trade
• Confidence using hand, air and electrical tools
• The ability to look at a mechanical problem, take it apart and put it back together

Useful, not essential:

• Experience with hydraulics
• A basic understanding of electrics or circuit diagrams
• A forklift truck licence

Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour rising to £14.28 after probation

Location: Great Bridge, Tipton | On-site

Contract: Permanent – pay rises after 3 month probation

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:30–16:30 | Friday, 07:30–12:30
