Mechanical Fitter (Days) Staff Manufacturing Salary + Benefits Essex Job Purpose Responsible for carrying out plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure the reliability and safe operation of plant and associated areas. Support colleagues across maintenance and plant operations as required to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and reactive breakdown work across the site. Complete planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the site''s CMMS. Diagnose faults on conveyors, screws, presses, compressors, bucket elevators and other mechanical equipment. Inspect, test and maintain mechanical systems, equipment and components. Monitor plant operation, identify potential failures and take action to minimise operational interruptions. Maintain accurate maintenance records and daily activity logs, including follow-up actions and spare parts requirements. Work effectively alongside Mechanical, Instrumentation and Production/Process teams to provide an efficient maintenance service. Maintain and repair piping systems, including the correct specification and installation of gaskets, flanges and fixings. Install and maintain plastic pipework and associated equipment. Carry out drive system alignment using DTI and laser alignment equipment. Install, maintain and set various types of mechanical seals. Liaise with external service contractors and provide assistance while they are working on site. Complete Risk Assessments ..... full job details .....
