Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic and inclusive team. Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and build complex industrial machinery and systems in line with technical engineering drawings.
- Perform hydraulic and pneumatic assembly, ensuring systems align with client specifications and safety standards.
- Fabricate and weld components using diverse techniques to support machine building and repair tasks.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to maintain quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to improve machinery functionality and performance.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Provide input into process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency of mechanical operations.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly, mechanical fitting, and machine building.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Skilled in metal fabrication and welding techniques.
- Hands-on experience working with industrial machinery within a manufacturing or engineering-focused environment.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical fitting and assembly.
Desirable:
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with modern machine-building technologies and techniques.
- Experience working in teams with a focus on collaboration and shared goals.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Day-to-Day
- Review engineering drawings to plan and execute fitting and assembly tasks.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble and adjust mechanical components.
- Work closely with teammates to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Monitor the functionality of assembled components through testing and troubleshooting processes.
- Respond quickly to repair and maintenance requests, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
- Prepare detailed reports on work conducted, noting any issues and solutions for future reference.
- Contribute to team meetings and provide feedback or improvements for upcoming projects.
The basic pay rate is £13.5/h, with £25/week attendance bonus (£50/week once permanent + annual profit related bonus scheme roughly £1500/annum).
Morning shift only with early finish on Fridays, overtime is paid on enhanced rates.
