Mechanical Technician Location: New Mills Salary: £51,000 + Benefits Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Days Evening Call-Out: 1 in every 5 weeks The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a well-established manufacturing operation in New Mills. This role will provide a high level of mechanical engineering support across the site, helping to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency and maintenance standards. Working closely with production teams, engineering colleagues and external contractors, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing plant equipment, improving preventative maintenance practices and maximising the performance and reliability of site assets. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, excellent fault-finding skills and experience maintaining complex industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical fault-finding, troubleshooting and repairs across a range of production machinery and site equipment. Develop, implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Support the planning, scheduling and execution of routine and non-routine maintenance activities, including planned shutdowns.
