We are currently working with a well-established mechanical contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team based in Glasgow. This role will involve pricing and supporting a wide range of mechanical projects across Scotland.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the tendering and pre-construction process, producing accurate and competitive estimates across a variety of mechanical projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical packages (HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plumbing systems)
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Carrying out full take-offs and producing BOQs
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Supporting the submission of competitive tenders within deadlines
• Liaising with internal project and commercial teams

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services sector
• Strong understanding of HVAC, ductwork, and mechanical installations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience producing BOQs and detailed cost breakdowns
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
