The Opportunity

An established and growing building services contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a Mechanical Estimator. This is a key role within the business, focused on securing and delivering high-quality commercial projects across a range of sectors.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with internal teams and external clients. You''ll play a vital role in developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical tenders and quotations
• Review specifications, drawings, and project requirements
• Develop client relationships and identify new tender opportunities
• Collaborate with delivery and commercial teams throughout the bid process
• Value engineer solutions to ensure competitiveness and efficiency
• Manage tender submissions to tight deadlines
• Attend client and site meetings where required
• Support contract handover and ongoing commercial activities

About You

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services
• Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience working on commercial projects
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and public health systems
• Knowledge of current industry regulations and standards
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
