Mechanical Estimator

Mechanical Estimator required for a busy M&E business.
You will be required to analyze and price project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs. You will-work with various teams, including design, engineering, and construction, to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates are provided.-
Key Responsibilities:

Analyzing Project Documents:
Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to understand the scope of work for mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).-

Preparing Cost Estimates:
Calculating the quantity of materials, labor hours, and equipment needed for each project phase.-

Sourcing and Negotiating:
Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible prices for materials and services.-

Tender Preparation:
Creating detailed and accurate cost estimates for inclusion in tender submissions.-

Collaboration:
Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements and company standards.-

Cost Management:
Monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.-

Staying Updated:
Keeping abreast of industry trends, material costs, and technological advancements to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.-

Providing Technical Advice:
Offering expertise and guidance to clients and internal teams on cost-related matters.-

Mentoring:
In some cases, junior estimators may be mentored by more experienced estimators.-

Maintaining Databases:
Keeping accurate records of cost data, material prices, and labor rates for future reference.-

Client Interaction:
Liaising with clients to understand their needs and provide them with relevant information.-
