Mechanical Estimator (Intermediate–Senior) — Hampshire

Salary: Intermediate £40–50k • Experienced £50–60k • Senior £60–70k + benefits + progression

The opportunity:

Whether you’re an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator building independence, an Experienced Mechanical Estimator confidently running tenders, or a Senior Mechanical Estimator ready to take full ownership, you’ll price pre-designed and design & build schemes typically between £20k–£2m across healthcare and medium-scale commercial.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for mechanical services projects.
• Review specs/drawings, carry out take-offs, and obtain supplier quotations.
• Lead or contribute to tender submissions and bid documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal delivery teams.
• Support value-engineering and cost-optimisation initiatives.
• Senior level: own multiple tenders; mentor junior colleagues.

Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical Building Services estimating background (heating, ventilation, AC, plumbing).
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Intermediate: -2–5 years, growing autonomy with support.
• Experienced Mechanical Estimator: -5–8 years, runs tenders independently; adds to bid strategy.
• Senior Mechanical Estimator: 9+ years, leads multiple tenders; mentors others; shapes bid approach.
• Collaborative, clear communicator; comfortable in a team environment.

Package & Benefits:

• Base Salary: Intermediate £40–50k • Experienced £50–60k • Senior £60–70k.
• Experienced & Senior: Hybrid company car (or car allowance, if preferred) plus travel expenses.
