Mechanical Engineer/ Sheet Metal Worker/Fitter

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer preferably apprentice trained to join Newsmiths industrial washing machine and handling engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Mechanical engineering background and demonstrate proficiency in various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Working with stainless steel sheet metal
• Experience in Tig Welding is essential
• Experience in polishing tig welds and sheet metal joints
• Experience in cutting and assembling box section/ angle frameworks
• The ability to fit shafts/ bearings/ pumps/ gearboxes and general engineering tasks
• Able to read & manufacture from 3D & AutoCad drawings, ensuring that you meet the required specifications and standards.
• Occasional working out on site for installations/ breakdowns as and when required

Qualifications

• Skilled qualification in Mechanical Engineering/ Sheet metal work/ Tig Welding, HNC, BTEC, NVQ L3 or similar.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical information.
