Mechanical Engineer Location: Croydon Employment: Permanent Salary: Up to 55k Overview An established engineering business supporting the maintenance, overhaul and improvement of complex mechanical systems is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer. Working within a project-focused engineering environment, you will provide hands-on technical support across investigations, testing, component overhauls and engineering changes. The role involves working closely with internal departments, customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues, improve product performance and maintain engineering and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on engineering support across bills of materials, condition assessments, job packs, engineering changes and overhaul projects. Investigate mechanical faults, diagnose failures and develop practical solutions using structured problem-solving techniques. Manage warranty investigations, liaising with customers and suppliers, preparing technical reports and ensuring recommended corrective actions are implemented. Prepare method statements, test procedures, component overhaul instructions and supporting technical documentation. Conduct material analysis, technical comparisons and engineering assessments, compiling findings into clear reports. Design or specify tooling to support engineering, testing and overhaul activities.
