This full-time, temporary-to-permanent position pays £19 per hour, with potential to secure ongoing employment. The role involves servicing, rebuilding, and repairing diesel engines, diagnosing faults on petrol, diesel, and gas engines, and performing electrical diagnostics including common rail and ECU fault finding. Pertemps Daventry is recruiting on behalf of one of our established clients for a Mechanical Engineer to join their friendly and growing team.
This is a Temporary to Permanent opportunity offering £19.00 per hour, with the chance to secure a permanent position with a well-established business.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit a forward-thinking, motivated engineer with a passion for fault finding, servicing and maintaining diesel engines. You'll be working in a supportive environment where customer service and engineering excellence are at the heart of everything they do.
The Role
- Service, rebuild, repair and maintain diesel engines
- Diagnose faults on petrol, diesel and gas engines
- Carry out electrical diagnostics and common rail/ECU fault finding
- Work primarily from the workshop with occasional visits to customer sites
- Deliver high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service
- Experience or qualifications in mechanical engineering
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on diesel engines
- Knowledge of common rail/ECU systems is advantageous
- A proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a small team
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
- 30-minute lunch break
- £19.00 per hour
