Mechanical Engineer - P&ID

A mechanical engineer is required with a background in mechanical design of piping and sizing pipes, pumps, valves from a mechanical contractor, process industry, oil & gas, water or building services background.

This is a mid-level Mechanical Engineer role and could be suitable for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This is not a CAD job.

We require someone to hit the ground running, so only able to accept applications from local individuals with around 10 years of experience in mechanical building services, commercial HVAC design engineering, or process industries, such as process water, Oil & Gas, involving pipework, valves, pumps, and structural engineering.

The Role

• As a mid-level individual, you will ensure the governance of designs, accuracy, feasibility, and structural integrity
• Equipment selection, sizing pumps & valves P&IDs
• Check and submit client submittals and manufacturing drawings, ensuring BOM accuracy
• Prepare accurate specifications and reports
• Designing solutions for mission-critical infrastructure data centre applications
• Manage the engineering change control process, ensuring accurate changes are implemented
• This is a customer-facing role involving high-value, engineered-to-order solutions

Flexi-hours: 38 hours, early finish on Fridays

You

• An experienced Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This is not a CAD job.
• Likely to have worked in an M&E D&B Contractor or building services consultancy, process industry, oil & gas or water industry background involving pipework, pressure vessels, pumps, sizing and selecting
• Ideally able to use Solidworks, AutoCAD MEP
