Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a major construction programme in South London. This long-term contract opportunity involves overseeing mechanical installation activities across infrastructure, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards. Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.

• Manage and coordinate mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle
• Review mechanical drawings, technical specifications and installation requirements
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works meet programme requirements
• Support quality assurance processes, inspections and commissioning activities
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to senior project stakeholders
• Coordinate with CSA, electrical and commissioning teams to support efficient project delivery
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements

• Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant mechanical trade background
• Experience delivering mechanical packages on data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or large-scale industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, pipework and associated mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience working within fast-paced construction environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and installation practices
• Data centre project experience is highly desirable
