YT Tech is working on behalf of a client in Bournemouth who is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for producing 3D CAD models and technical drawings, supporting both new product development and improvement of existing designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed assemblies/sub-assemblies using SolidEdge (preferred)
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design briefs, specifications, and manuals
- Participate in internal and customer-facing design reviews
- Support product development from concept through to manufacture and installation
- Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing methods based on technical analysis and research
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, engineering best practices, and the company’s Quality Management System
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to clients
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices
- A recognised Engineering qualification (HND, Degree, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical design role, preferably within electro-mechanical systems
- Proficiency in CAD tools – SolidEdge is preferred
- Experience in areas such as materials selection, mechatronics, electronics packaging, composite design, or pressure systems would be highly advantageous
