Building Services Mechanical Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services and Low Carbon Engineering consultancy based in Bristol.
This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer with Building Services consultancy experience looking to develop their technical ability whilst working on sustainable, low energy and architecturally led projects across a variety of sectors.
The consultancy is recognised for delivering innovative low carbon engineering solutions, Passivhaus developments and high-performance building designs throughout the UK. Projects range from contemporary new build developments through to complex refurbishments and heritage retrofit schemes.
Mechanical Engineer - The Role
The successful Mechanical Engineer will support the delivery of mechanical Building Services designs from concept through to completion, working closely with senior engineers, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the design of mechanical Building Services systems including HVAC, ventilation and public health systems
- Producing mechanical design calculations and technical documentation
- Preparing drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Supporting the coordination of mechanical services with other disciplines
- Assisting with sustainable and low carbon design strategies
- Attending project and client meetings
- Supporting site inspections, commissioning and project delivery
- Working closely with senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and project experience
- Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience within Building Services consultancy
- Understanding of mechanical Building Services design principles
- Knowledge of software including Revit and AutoCAD
- Interest in sustainable and low carbon building design
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Motivated and enthusiastic approach to career development
- Working towards Chartership desirable
