This is a hands-on role with real ownership-taking concepts from design through to production while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement.You''ll work closely with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, compliant designs that meet customer and regulatory requirements, particularly within Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and heavy engineering environments.What You''ll Be DoingLead and deliver complex mechanical design projects from concept to manufactureProduce high-accuracy 3D models, drawings, cut lists, jigs, and technical documentationCarry out structural, stress, and tolerance calculationsWork directly with the production floor to resolve design and build challengesDrive design improvements and manage design issue logsSelect appropriate materials to meet performance and customer requirementsEnsure compliance with ISO 9001, health and safety, and type approval standardsMentor junior engineers and support cross-functional teamsWhat We''re Looking For7+ years'' experience in mechanical design within heavy engineeringDegree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)Strong experience with SolidWorks and AutoCADExcellent technical drawing and documentation skillsKnowledge of type approval and manufacturing processesHighly ..... full job details .....
